Our Story...
Empowering
Young Minds
Through the
Power of Play!
Let’s Play was founded in 2010 in Pune by Vandana Apte, driven by a simple belief — children everywhere have immense energy, and when
channelled in the right direction, it can become a powerful force for growth. She began by encouraging children to engage in sport,
recognising its ability to build discipline, resilience and confidence.
Children and adolescents today face increasing emotional, social and developmental challenges. For those living in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) or transitioning out of care, these challenges are amplified by trauma, restricted environments and inconsistent support systems.
What started as a small effort to promote physical activity gradually grew into a deeper exploration of how play can support emotional, social and cognitive development. Over time, Let’s Play evolved from encouraging sport to using play as a purposeful tool for learning, healing and holistic development.
Today, that founding belief continues to guide the organisation’s work with children and adolescents across diverse and vulnerable contexts.
